Ensure the device is placed upright and not in stock mode, in the app you can see the angle as measured by the device. To do this,
If the angle is more than 10 degrees for the RainXact Plus or 15 degrees for the WeatherXact Plus it will enter stock mode. To force a reset,
Additionally for the RainXact Plus tap the bucket after you turned on the device. The mode should update within 24h after following these steps.
Ensure you are using the official FarmXtend app to view your devices, it can be found on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The WeatherXact Plus and RainXact Plus enter stock mode when their angle exceeds what they are designed for. To check the angle of the device:
Make sure that the WeatherXact Plus doesn't exceed 15 degrees and the RainXact Plus doesn't exceed 10 degrees.
Make sure that the device isn't in stock mode. To check,
Check that the self tipping bucket can move freely inside the device and nothing is preventing it from tilting all the way.
Please place the sensor 25cm in the ground. The 25cm mark is indicated by a small circular mark on the device.
Please make sure that the QR code was scanned correctly. If the app fails to scan the QR code manually enter the code. It is currently only possible for users to add the sensor to one account.
If the app is unable to scan the QR code please manually enter the code.
If you are testing the device manually please ensure that you do not tip the bucket more than once every 20 seconds.
To minimize the risk of theft please don't place the sensor near a public road or in an easily accessible area.
Turn the sensor off and move it to the new location. Place the sensor following the steps in the quickstart guide and turn the sensor back on. Update the location in the FarmXtend app and any other settings if necessary.
We advice you place the device in a representative spot on your field where you can see it when working the field.
Please contact your dealer for a replacement.
Make sure that the SoilXact Plus is installed correctly. The SoilXact Plus should be outside and placed in the soil. Please follow the steps as shown in the Quickstart guide for installation.
Check the status of the device in the FarmXtend app by following these steps:
If the sensor is in stock mode please put it in the active mode by following these steps:
Make sure that you are holding the magnet on the indicated location. Remove the shopping cart coin before holding the magnet on the device. If this fails please use a stronger magnet after ten minutes and try it again.
A small disturbance in the soil will cause the SoilXact Plus to have an inaccurate measurement. Please move the device at least 1m and place it into the soil following the steps indicated.
The SoilXact Plus can be put into stock mode to preserver the battery. To get the device back into active mode:
The SoilXact Plus should be placed as deep as most of the roots are. Make sure that the device is placed at least 9cm into the ground to ensure all sensors are fully inserted into the soil.
A disturbance in the soil can make the measurements incorrect. Please move the sensor at least 1 meter and place it back.
